All applicants must possess the minimum National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certification outlined below to be considered for any Team Ontario coaching opportunities. All certifications will be confirmed using The Locker.
Head Coach (Available positions: 1)
Minimum NCCP Certification:
- Introduction to Competition Certified
- Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation
- Safe Sport Training
Assistant Coach (Available positions: 2)
Minimum NCCP Certification:
- Introduction to Competition Trained
- Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation
- Safe Sport Training
All coaches must be available for scheduled tryouts, training camps, and the 2023 Canadian Boccia Championships. The mandatory dates are:
- Sept 23 or 24, 2023 in Whitby, ON (Abilities Centre)
- October 14 or 15, 2023 in Hamilton, ON (TBD)
- October 23 to 30, 2023 in Vancouver, BC (Richmond Oval)
Interested applicants are asked to submit a coaching resume and criminal record check by 4:00pm EST on July 8th, 2023. Applications should include coaching/competition experience, years coaching, classification understanding, and experience coaching different classifications. Ontario Boccia thanks all coaches for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Coaches that are not a registered member in good standing with OCPSA will not be considered. A Selection Committee will use the OCPSA Boccia Team Selection Policy in order to determine which coaches will be selected.
