What We Do
- We serve children and adults with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, stroke, muscular dystrophy, and/or any similar or co-occurring disability.
- We provide them with free and low-cost programs, as well as free access to specialized sport equipment and assistive devices they require to participate.
- We reach all regions of Ontario through dynamic community-based and remote programs in the Paralympic sports of para-athletics (track and field) and boccia.
- We work with countless volunteers and delivery partners including local sport clubs, children’s treatment centres, schools, grassroots organizations, and municipal programs.
For more than 40 years, OCPSA has helped thousands of children and adults with cerebral palsy and similar disabilities to build healthy, active, and fulfilling lives through sport and physical activity programming, special projects, and support.
In a world of obstacles and challenges, we strive to create for them a world without boundaries where sport and physical activity programming is accessible, inclusive, and equitable.
Ways to give
When you become a monthly donor, you are joining a very special group of leaders who are supporting ongoing access to life-changing programs and equipment. Monthly donations can be made by credit card or bank account on the 1st or 15th of each month. Please become a monthly donor by credit card here.
If you prefer to make your monthly donation by bank account, please contact us by phone 1-866-286-2772 or send the form found here by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by mail to: OCPSA, P.O. Box 60082, Ottawa, ON K1T 0K9.
Tribute gifts are a meaningful way to celebrate a holiday, honour someone special, or express your sympathy for the loss of a loved one. They are also a unique way to acknowledge a significant life event such as a birthday, anniversary, wedding, retirement or other milestone, while also contributing to a worthwhile cause. You can make a tribute gift here.
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charities. Some companies will even match the contributions made by retirees and spouses. Most programs match donations dollar for dollar, but some will double or even triple the amount of your contribution.
To make a matching gift, please request a matching gift form from your Human Resources Department, complete it, and send it along with your gift to OCPSA: P.O. Box 60082, Ottawa, ON K1T 0K9. We will do the rest. It’s that easy. Your company will send its matching donation directly to OCPSA.
Whether you want to set up a personal fundraising page, are a company looking to get your employees involved in a community fundraiser, a student or teacher looking to raise funds with their school, or an individual or family who wants to host an event, we can help you get started.
All it takes is a little creativity, some careful planning, and the desire to make a difference. To help, we’ve compiled a Third Party Fundraising Package to assist you in planning your event or initiative. If you would like to discuss your fundraising idea or have questions, please contact us:
Leaving a lasting legacy to OCPSA is an extraordinary statement of your generosity – one that will make a profound difference in the lives of children and adults with physical disabilities today and for generations that follow.
It is also a practical addition to a financial or estate plan that can help provide for the current and future needs of your family due to the tax advantages of each legacy giving option, including: a bequest through a Will, an endowment, or gifts of life insurance, securities (stocks), RRSPs/RRIFs, real estate, etc.
If you are considering a legacy gift, we strongly recommend that you have an open discussion with your family regarding your intentions. It is also imperative that you seek professional advice and assistance from your lawyer and/or financial advisor. To notify OCPSA of a legacy gift or to discuss this possibility, please contact us:
