Annual Awards
The OCPSA Annual Awards are presented at the biennial OCPSA Awards Banquet. Although these awards are termed “annual,” they recognize achievements from the previous two years. These awards acknowledge outstanding athletes, coaches, officials, and contributors who have demonstrated exceptional performance, dedication, and leadership.
Categories for the Annual Awards include:
- Senior & Junior Athlete of the Year: Recognizes athletes who have excelled in their respective events, demonstrating exceptional ability, character, and sportsmanship.
- Sport Spirit Award: Celebrates a member who consistently demonstrates dedication, sportsmanship, and team spirit, contributing positively to the Ontario program.
- Club Coach of the Year: Awarded to a coach who demonstrates leadership at the grassroots or club level, contributing significantly to the development and promotion of their sport.
- Performance Coach of the Year: Honours a coach who has shown exceptional performance, innovation, and success in developing athletes at the provincial level.
- Official of the Year: Presented to an official who has made a significant contribution to their sport through dedication and exemplary service.
- The Weatherall Award of Distinction: Acknowledges an organization, corporation, or donor that has made a significant contribution to amateur sport in Ontario through leadership, advocacy, or support.
