    • Accommodation: OCPSA will subsidize members in good standing up to $100 per night accommodation.
    • Focus: Pre-game procedures, rules, court etiquette, athlete interaction, on court scenarios, etc.
    • Benefits: Referees help ensure that boccia athletes have the opportunity to put their skills to the test in competitions, from the local to international level.

Meet the Learning Facilitator, Gary Vander Vies:

      • Introduced to boccia in 1996;
      • Has acted as a international referee, provincial/national head referee, provincial/national technical delegate, sport assistant at international events, chairman of the Boccia Canada Council, chairman for the Boccia International Sports Federation’s competition and rules committee, board member for the Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association;
      • Introduced a number of ideas and concepts that are widely used in boccia today (ball testing devices, for example).
